Terms of Service
Key Takeaways in Plain English
AfterMyBills helps you plan for bills and estimate what’s left to spend. It isn’t a bank, lender, or financial advisor. Your estimates depend on the information you enter. You own that information and can export your data or erase your financial records in Settings.
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using our website at aftermybills.com or our web application at app.aftermybills.com (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. We strive to keep these terms reasonable, fair, and free of unnecessary legal jargon.
2. Description of the Service
AfterMyBills runs in your browser and helps you plan your everyday money:
- Safe to Spend: Uses the balances, bills, and paydays you enter to estimate what you could spend today while covering the next 30 days.
- Online storage: Supabase stores your accounts, bills, and balance updates. Account access rules help keep your records separate from other users’ records.
- Internet access: Use the app in your browser or add it to your phone’s home screen. An internet connection is required to open the app and save or view your data.
- Debt and bill planning: See upcoming bills and compare ways to pay down debt, such as starting with the smallest balance or highest interest rate.
3. No Financial, Investment, or Legal Advice
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The calculations, timelines, safe-to-spend estimations, and debt payoff projections produced by AfterMyBills are provided solely for educational, informational, and organizational purposes.
- AfterMyBills is not a bank, lender, credit card issuer, broker-dealer, or registered investment advisor.
- No output from our calculations constitutes licensed financial planning, investment advice, legal advice, or tax accounting.
- The accuracy of the calculations depends directly on the bill amounts, payment dates, and balances you enter. You remain solely responsible for ensuring your bank accounts have sufficient funds to cover real-world withdrawals and avoid overdraft fees.
- Always consult a certified financial planner (CFP) or certified public accountant (CPA) for tailored financial guidance.
4. User Responsibilities & Data Ownership
You maintain 100% ownership over all financial information you enter into the application:
- Data Accuracy: You are responsible for keeping your bill amounts, due dates, and initial balance snapshots accurate.
- Account & Device Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and safeguarding the devices you use to access AfterMyBills.
- Backups & Portability: You can export your data at any time as an open JSON file from the Settings tab. We encourage making periodic exports for your personal archives.
5. Acceptable Use
We want AfterMyBills to remain fast, safe, and welcoming for everyone. You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, probe, or overload our edge servers, CDN infrastructure, or networks.
- Use automated scrapers, bots, or spiders to scrape or reverse-engineer our web code.
- Redistribute or repackage our user interface, logos, or proprietary code without written permission.
- Use the application for any illegal or fraudulent activities.
6. Intellectual Property
The AfterMyBills brand, name, logo, software designs, calculation logic, and website code are the exclusive intellectual property of AfterMyBills. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your personal or small business household tracking.
7. Service Availability & Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
While we make every effort to ensure high availability, precision arithmetic, and bug-free performance, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted uptime or that the service will meet every individual requirement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfterMyBills and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service.
8. Termination & Erasing Your Data
You can stop using AfterMyBills at any time. “Erase All Data” in Settings removes your financial records from the active database after it succeeds. It doesn’t delete your sign-in account or immediately erase existing backups. We keep a small record of the change to prevent older copies on other devices from restoring erased data. We may suspend access for people who violate these Terms or attack the service.
